Make a field of an entity unique

If you are looking to make an entity field unique, you have a few options to accomplish this task based on the document attached below. You can have a validation rule or a validation flow. Validation flows are used for more complex cases and can include rules within them. For this demonstration I will create a validation flow. Assuming you have an entity setup, you can add these validation rules and flows to the configuration folder of the entity. I have an entity that allows users to submit a “Travel Request” . The following are the fields for the “Travel Request” entity”.

To initiate a Validation flow, you will go into the configuration folder for the entity and in the bottom tab, you will click validation rule drop-down menu to select “Validation flow” user action.

For this use case, I want to make the “Travel Amount” field to be unique; users can’t request a trip that is over $1000. So, I will use a rule within my flow to evaluate the "Travel Amount" before the user is able to submit it. The results will show that the user will get an error when they enter a value above 1000 for the Travel amount.

Creating a int type list

Hello!

The method you used to create the Int list is correct. The issue here is with your mapping. Based on the error image you have attached, it looks like the input the flow is trying to store in the list variable is a single integer, but the int list you setup requires an int list to be stored in it. You may need to look at the other components of your flow to see where this list is getting the input from.

Yes, there is a way to set up the default chart color. First, go to the left panel and select the “System Folder”.

Next, scroll down and select “Setting”.

Within that list find “Chart Setting”. Here you will be able to configure the default chart colors.

From here you will be able to choose the colors you want. Once you save, these colors will be applied to all your charts.

Email only current date entries

Hello!
To send an email at a certain time, you can use a schedule and utilizing the time span option. Timespan allows users to configure and certain workflows to run only at a given time period.
For more information on running flow on a schedule: https://documentation.decisions.com/docs/running-a-flow-on-a-schedule

For filtering out only the entries for the current day, you can use a report. This report will pull all your entity data. You can filter it by the “created date” and choose the current date.

When something is deleted it is marked or flagged as deleted. This is done so it can be recovered if it needs to be. When data is archieved it means that it is stored away in a different location to save storage space. Note, that not all data is archived. Archive settings can be configured for specific data.

Sorting setting not changing for grouped columns

If a data field is set to “grouping” , you cannot set the sorting to “none”.It will always be set to either “Ascending” or “Descending”. If you are trying to sort by a different data field and want to keep the grouping for the data field you don’t want to sort for, you can add a subgroup. For subgrouping, you can click the data field (within the report menu) you want to sort by and it will give you the option to add that data field as the “sub sort”. For reference, I created a report for products and attached the image below to display the sorting setting.

The following links provide information on how to set up a customized process view page: https://support.decisions.com/forum/topic2154-adding-custom-process-view-pages.aspx
http://support.decisions.com/forum/topic1997-how-can-i-modify-process-view-page.aspx

An action bar will allow you to add user actions directly on the process view page. You can use the filter section to add specific actions to the page. The action bar will only impact the page not the right-click menu for the users. You can find more information on action bars in the following post https://support.decisions.com/forum/topic2182-actions-bar.aspx.

Visibility rules can be used to manage the right-click action menu for users. This will allow you to hide the actions you don't want users to have access to. The following post provides further information on visibility rules: https://support.decisions.com/forum/topic43-how-can-i-hide-actions-from-users.aspx.

things to watch out for when copying a flow

"Copy Flow" command will create an exact copy of the original flow with all its objects and settings.
Please be advised that since the dependencies (e.g. subflows, custom rules, form, etc.) from the original flow will be referenced in the copy. This means that any changes to the dependencies in the copied flow will impact the original flow. So, to prevent any impact on the original flow, you will need to copy all the dependencies and replace them in the copied flow for these changes to have no impact on the original flow.

You can dynamically set the Response Button text by using the Start Flow on the assignment.

You will need to remove the default assignment notification and use the start Flow. In the Start Flow use a “nvelocity” step and a “send Email step”. "Start Flow” can be found under Properties>OnStep Run. In the Email step use the Nvelosity output in a "Merge Html" option.

For more information on nvelocity step please use the following Document:

https://documentation.decisions.com/docs/advanced-text-merge-using-the-nvelocity-component

A HTML file is attached below that can be used in the Nvelocity step.

To remove the MyDocuments folder:

Navigate to the System-->Settings-->click "Portal Settings" from the list"--> scroll down to "Portal Setting section"--> uncheck "Show User's Home Folder"
Note: that this will remove MyDocuments folder from the studio and portal.

To remove Inbox form the user portal:

Right-click the Inbox folder in the studio--> Manage--> [User Portal Visibility]hide

Note this will only hide the inbox in the user portal, not the studio.

If you have data passed in and you want a new empty row below the data upon opening, you will need to "join arrays" and add an empty constant as the inputs for this scenario.
Please see attached images for reference.

Hello!
Reports can be filtered using a Rule Filter that is found in the Filter section.

You can use the "Not" function in the rule to take out the results you do want. Also, users can edit this rule easier on the report. You will need to select the "runtime Editable" option for the Runtime behavior.

More information on rule filters can be found in this document: https://documentation.decisions.com/docs/rule-filter-report

Hello!
Just to confirm your use case includes running 5 rules and want to increase scalability. In addition, you want to use one of the variables based on VarToRun Value, correct?
If so, you can instead of changing the variable mapped in, change the value of the variable. You can also use a truth table instead of multiple rules.
For more information on truth tables please use the following documents:
https://documentation.decisions.com/docs/about-truth-tables
https://documentation.decisions.com/docs/truth-tables-rule-set
Please let us know if this answers your questions.

The data is being null because it is not being pulled in correctly. Unless you have a character separating the different fields in the text file (such as a dot, comma, semicolon) you will need to select "tabbing" for the "CSV Delimiter" input.

Refreshing Advance Data grid after update

faiza@decisions.com
faiza@decisions.com
Administrator
Refreshing a data grid can be accomplished by using a data flow. For instance we can have the user click a button to refresh the grid or have them click another row and refresh the grid that way. Both options will use the data flow but will have the trigger either set to the user selecting another row or clicking the button component on the form.

We will go over the row selection option below.
In the properties section of the Data Grid, select the "Single Select" option for the "Grid mode".

Click off the form and navigate to the Data Flow section and add a data flow.

Select create a data flow and in this flow fetch the entities the data grid was displaying and output it from this flow. Save and close. (in the current example we used a user defined type (Tech_purchase) entity)

For the triggers select: Run at startup and the “Selection change" (note: if we were to use the button option, we would select the button component here for the trigger)

Update the Input data name for the data grid to the output of that data flow output. Save and close.

I have attached an example project for reference.

Deleting a Process folder

Deleting a process folder from the User interface will only be a soft delete. The components will only be deleted from the UI not the Database. There still may be reference to the objects in the database tables. To delete these objects from the database we will need to query the tables and delete them individually from the tables they are referenced in.

Declare Dependencies

We can use Tags to indicate that the Flow is being used. For instance we can add a tag that would say "Rest Flow".
-To add tags to a flow right-click the flow>Add>Setup>Managed Tags

-This will open a window. We can add existing tags or type a new tag in the text box.
-Users will be asked if they want to "Create a new tag" if the tag they input does not exist already.

-Once we are done the tag will be applied to the Flow.

This will indicate to users that this Flow is being used.

If this is not what you were looking for can we please get more clarification on the use case.

Hello Jeff!
The Dependency Browser only shows the relationship between steps. I will put in a feature request for Dependency browsers to show the relationship between steps and API calls.
As a workaround, we can create a placeholder flow, naming it the external service that is calling the "RESTfully" flow.

RestFully Flow will be added in as a sub-flow.

This will show that the RestFully Flow is being used by something.

Save Data Repeater Elements in Real Time

faiza@decisions.com
faiza@decisions.com
Administrator
Hello,
Can you provide more information around the use case for needing to save this data in real-time when it is entered into the form? Doing so would either require data flows to trigger on value change for each entry field, which would have them run every time a character is entered in an entry field and may incur some performance issues when interacting with the form.
We could also trigger the data flows to run on entering/exiting these entry fields, however in addition to potential performance issues, we'd run the risk of data not being saved to the database if a user were to reach their final entry field, edit the value, and not enter or exit an entry field.
If saving the data in real-time is not necessary for your use case, I would suggest saving the data repeater entries to the database after completing the form. I've included a small example of how this would look in a flow. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
